Billy Smolinski Jr Update

Billy Smolinski Jr

CIRCUMSTANCES: Billy Smolinski was last seen on August 24th, 2004 by his neighbor on Holly Street in Waterbury around 3:30 or 3:45 p.m. He reportedly went to his neighbor's house and told the neighbor he needed them to care for the dog because he would be gone for three days & then asked them to feed the dog who was locked inside the home. The neighbor said Billy never returned with the keys to his house so they could feed the dog & he has not been heard from since. The police have been treating this as an open working case in which Billy is listed as an "Endangered Missing Person". There are a lot of things that don't add up, like the fact that he left his keys and his wallet in his truck. Billy also hasn't made any withdrawals from his bank account. He also does not have a cell phone. The day before he had cashed a check from his full time job and deposited most of it.

He also took very good care of his dog, Harley, and they say they would not leave Harley unattended like this. Harley is very special to Billy and was treated like he would have treated his own child. (Seeing Harley left unattended and running around without Billy there was the main thing that raised concerns that something was very wrong and that Billy was missing because there is no way Billy would have left Harley in the way that we found her.)

He had just bought a home of his own and was very excited to get it painted that summer and get the home like he wanted it. He had already started preparations on the home to begin the painting as soon as his spare time allowed it. Numerous people has reported that Billy was often talking about how excited he was over his new home & his home improvement projects that he was eager to get started on. There are NO indications anywhere that Billy intended on leaving and never returning.

A receipt from a fast food restaurant with the time of day stamped on it was located inside his home right before he appeared at his neighbor's house to ask them to watch Harley so we know he had been there prior to the neighbor seeing him. His neighbor said nothing seemed unusual about Billy when he was at their door so what happened to Billy from the time he left his neighbor's home until the time he seemed to vanish without a trace? Did somebody come by Billy's house & he left with them? If so, who and why? Was it a stranger or somebody he knew? Was Billy upset over his struggle with financial problems and personal problems? Did his anger get out of control after leaving a death threat on an answering machine? The biggest question...why didn't Billy come BACK??
